Moments

In my thoughts, I find you stealing through
The mundane moments of my day.
As time slows down, my soul flies away
Wandering and wondering where you are.
A flash of lightning in my mind
Reflects in the subtle smile let loose.
A glinting glimpse of you in memory
Pervades all purpose and worldly work.
And the moment in memory stretches on
Leaving the laws of time in tatters.
A scenic second transforms into magnificent minutes
Of wandering and wondering and of joyous journeys
To where you might be;ย all happening in my mind.

I’d like to take the time and receive the honor of being one of the winners of the Perfect Poet Award for Thursday Poets Rally Week 39
I’d like to nominate Story in a Poem (http://storyinapoem.wordpress.com) for this week.

I’d also like to accept the honor of being one of the runner ups for the Celebrate Poet of Spring 2011. Much appreciated.

  1. Thanks for your feedback on my rally piece! You give me more credit than I deserve; although the seed of the poem did start at 3 a.m., it took many fully awake hours to fine-tune the piece. ๐Ÿ™‚

I enjoyed your entry and how this was all happening in your head. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Congrats on the award, this piece fits in well with the recognition. The subtle weavings of the inner mind, flashing through emotions and feelings is fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Such beautiful words, both romantic and sad! Unrequited love? These lines are my favoriteL

  7. Very nice piece! I’m not a poet, even though I love to write. I love a poem or short story that tells a hugely wonderful tale and yours did that for me. I read some of the comments above and and thought that yes this might be about unrequited love, but it could also be about someone who has loved well and lost that love because of sickness. After a while, once the pain has gone away you begin to remember all the wonderful times you had; holding hands as you ran down the beach or through a meadow rejoicing in flowers, and even though on occasion the loss and hurt make your throat tighten and tears flood your eyes, you wander to a place where you were happy together and you wonder what they might be doing right now.

    Wonderful read. Blessings!
